The United Methodist Women (UMW) is the missional heart of any vital congregation.  Originally formed as missionary support service groups, the UMW has emerged as a force to be reckoned with when it comes to reaching the world for Christ.

At Lawton Heights the UMW continues to reach out to help those in need.  Among the yearly projects are helping out Pat Henry Elementary school with school supplies, the Church World United Blanket Sunday, and the Pregnancy Center.  There are many more projects to describe than space permits.

Currently the Lawton Heights UMW has two circles that meet monthly.  The Odessa Circle meets the third Thursday evening of every month at 7:00 pm at member's houses.  The Mary Addie/Wesleyan Circle meets the third Wednesday of every month at 10:00 am in the church parlor (and sometimes at member's houses).  The whole UMW comes together for lunch on the second Friday of every month at 12:00 noon.

Always looking for new members, the UMW is open to exploring new options for meeting times and forming new circles that will fit the lifestyles of interested women.
